   Tom,
   Beautiful shoes. Any unique qualities to buffalo over calfskin? Or is it simply an aesthetic preference? I have never heard of or seen buffalo shoes before.

   Eric,

   Thank you for the comment. John Lobb’s “buffalo” is just a term for their buffalo style grained calfskin. It is not actually real buffalo leather.

   Real buffalo is grained in nature and is thicker and more durable than regular calfskin. Not sure if real buffalo is the best type of leather for shoes.

   A: Yes, I would size down 1/2 or possibly even 1 full size depending on your footshape.
