Alden Shoes – Tan Suede PTBoot w/Crepe Sole (LSW)

Waikiki

August 25, 2010

Another variation of our popular Alden Plain Toe Boots w/Crepe Sole has just arrived, this time in supple tan suede.

We prefer them dirty and beat up with natural indigo stains, but feel free to use a high quality suede protector spray to keep the suede pristine. Either way, these suede PTBoots with soft crepe sole will not only look great, they will be one of the most, if not the most comfortable boots you will ever wear!

SOLD OUT!

  1. Tom, I know you appreciate feedback, so I thought I’d share my aesthetic preferences for lacing boots (and maybe encourage others to share theirs):

    1. No pull-strap, regular laces
    2. No pull strap, speed laces
    3. Pull strap, regular laces
    4. Pull strap, speed laces

Of course, my first preference might be impractical (the boots could be awkward to put on) and my last preference might be redundant (do you need a pull strap with speed laces?)

So the bottom line: please keep offering boots that have speed laces and no pull strap.

  2. Hi, How would I go about getting a boot similar to this in a wide size? I currently own a pair of alden #325’s e/eee and they fit perfect in size 10. Apparently, they are made on a somewhat rare last “CDI”. How would my size in the CDI translate to the barrie or trubalance (your ultimate indy’s look awesome) Any info is greatly appreciated,

    Dave

  3. Charles,

Thank you for the comment and suggestions. I will keep that in mind!

    Aloha,

    Tom

  4. Dave,

The CDI is a very unique last. It has the most volume of any last Alden produces. I would highly recommend visiting a reputable Alden dealer and get fitted on the Barrie or Trubalance before placing an order. You may find that your Barrie/Trubalance size differs slightly.

With that being said, we do a preorder about once a month to give people the opportunity to order non-stocked sizes. Please check back to our website a few times a month and you should see the preorder notices.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  5. So worth the wait…tasty tasty

  6. Tom,

These boots look great; will they survive in Seattle? I haven’t tried suede here, and get a lot of varying opinions about how it holds up in the rain, maintenance, etc.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    • Dan,

I too hear a lot of varying opinions. I would try using a high quality suede water repellent on a dark shade of suede but maybe a light shade like this tan may be a risky call in wet and rainy Seattle. I can’t say from experience though.

      Aloha,

      Tom

  7. I will, Tom – 5 more days and I’ll put them on my feet. Thanks again for an excellent service. Aloha

  8. And this one i like also, please see if you have my size tom..

  9. Frans,

Yes, we do. Please let me know if you are interested in these too.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  10. Hi tom,

Please add… Thx for the great service

  11. So are these on the Barrie or TruBalance last? Also, because of the Crepe sole, are shoe trees necessary?

  12. Thomas,

These are on the Barrie last as stated above. Shoe trees are always recommended regardless of sole but of course it is up to you if you use them or not. Shoe trees will help to draw out moisture from your shoes as well as help to keep the overall shape of the shoe.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  13. 7.5D available?

  15. Any of these left in a size 8 or 8.5?

Please clarify sizing. Similar sizing to Barrie or TruBalance last?

    Chris

  16. 日本語で失礼します。

    サイズ7Dはストックありますか?

  17. Any in size 7 left?

  18. Tom,

Any size 10.5D still available for the suede PTboot?

    Thanks –

  19. I currenty wear an Alden style 4060 (cap toe boot) plaza last, in 11 B/D. It is slightly long for me but wearable. Your boot in 11D sounds a bit large for me but what do you think?

  20. Mayo,

I believe the 4060 is on the Grant last. The Length should be similar to the Barrie but the Grant is much narrower. Sounds like a 10.5D would be your size in the Barrie.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  21. Thanks for good advice Tom. Do you anticipate another shipment of this boot, any time soon? It appears to be an ideal hot weather boot.

  22. I am still in love with them..no socks and they are perfect for summer..

  23. This is exactly the style I’ve been looking for. Any known re-order coming up?

    Thanks, Curt

  24. You should restock these!
