Alden Shoes – Lady Calf Jumper Boots (LSW)

Waikiki

August 29, 2010

After numerous requests by our customers, we decided to create a calfskin version of our popular Jumper Boots.

Instead of regular dress calf, we chose extra soft and supple lady calf. Coupled with a double oiled leather waterlock sole, these boots will feel like a well broken in pair the first time you wear them.

Our original Jumper Boots are made on the Trubalance last, which not only perfectly matches the look of this vintage inspired pair of boots, but also provides maximum comfort for almost every foot shape.

SOLD OUT!

  6. Hi Tom,

I’d been eyeing the Chromexcel Wingtips until I saw these which are exactly what I’ve been wanting. I can do a 12D on the Barrie last so would it be the same for the Trubalance? Being a bit wider would be fine.

    Thanks!

    Chad

  7. When does the BH store open? I want to get those Norwegian monk straps!

  8. Chad,

Yes, the Trubalance fits like the Barrie, maybe slightly wider. We do have 12D in stock so please let me know if you are interested.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  24. thanks tom. will there be any similar jumper boots available in the near future?

  25. Any chance of having these made in the black lady calf and the dark brown chromexcel with the commando sole in the future to help those of us who have to deal with snow during the winter months keep a good grip to the ground?

    • Darrel,

Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like a great boot but truthfully I don’t see that being made by us in the near future. We do have the brown chromexcel version being made as we speak. You could always have a local cobbler add a commando rubber sole on top of the leather.

      Aloha,

      Tom

  26. Tom,

How waterproof is the double oiled sole that will come with that shoe? Also, when do you think you will make this shoe in the black lady calf again since it sounds like you are sold out in the 7D size? (that would be the size I wold need if the Alden 7D in the plaza last fits me and the 6 1/2 E in the Lobb 8000 Last fits me – right?)

    • Darrell,

I wouldn’t say it’s waterproof but it will keep out moisture much better than a regular leather sole.

I really can’t say if/when we will reorder this. Truthfully it wasn’t the best seller although we did sell out.

      Aloha,

      Tom

  27. What is the best sole Alden makes for keeping out water and snow? Maybe then I’ll keep my eye out on your website for a boot I like with that kind of sole (although I lobby for the Jumper boot with whatever your answer is).

  28. Darrell,

When you say best sole for keeping water and snow out, do you mean through the sole or through the welt? I would say all rubber soles would keep the water out as the water would eventually seep through leather.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  29. Yes, keep water/moisture from seaping through the sole. Which Alden sole does the best job at that (understanding of course that their shoes are not waterproof). I’m thinking the commando or crepe sole but I’m not sure. Looking for your opinion.

  30. If 7D on the plaza last is my size, would I be the same size on the Truebalance last and is that the last being used for the brown chromexcel boot that you have coming? If so, are you able to let me know when they come in and/or hold a pair for me in that size (I would, however, want to see them first since I think this is the first time you are making this version of the shoe before actually purchasing them). Finally, if I want to have a csmmando sole on them after buying them, do you think Alden would do it if I sent the boot to them – not sure if there is a good local cobbler I would trust)?

    Thanks

  31. Darrell,

I would say the crepe sole since it is a full rubber sole versus the Commando which is essentially a rubber commando topy glued on to a leather sole.

For sizing, a 7D Plaza would equate to a 6.5D Trubalance. Yes, we can hold a pair for you and let you know when they arrive. They will be here pretty soon actually.

As far as resole, I believe Alden can do it for you but they will end up charging you for the full restoration, $145, so I’m not sure if that’s the best way to go.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  32. Ok thanks. I’ll look forward to hearing from you and seeing a picture of what I think will be a great looking shoe.

  33. RE:”will there be any similar jumper boots available in the near future? We have them coming in brown chromexcel and oiled nubuck. Probably sometime in the next 2-3 months.”

Are you taking pre-orders on these boots? I would be interested in size 11D in the oiled Nubuck.

  34. Ramon,

Sorry, we only ordered up to 10.5D for the Vintage Jumper. We ordered the Ultimate (chromexcel) Jumper in your size however.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  35. Hey Tom – love my Jumper Boots. Do I need to treat the leather sole to keep it oiled? I have some neatsfoot oil around if that’s the case.

    • Chad,

Glad to hear. Nothing really you can do for the sole. The oil should be throughout the leather sole so it should hold up till it’s time for a resole.

      Aloha,

      Tom

  36. Are any of these in stock at LSBH, and if so, in what sizes? I am interested in a 10D. Thanks!

  37. Will you have both versions in 10.5? Also, will there be any in the BH store, or only Waikiki? Do you order multiple pairs in various sizes, or only one pair of each? Thanks in advance.

  38. Deeshu,

Sorry, none in stock right now.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  39. Brent,

We will have the Ultimate and the Vintage at LSW and only the Ultimate at LSBH. Yes, 10.5D will be stocked. We ordered 4 pairs for LSBH and 2 for LSW. Sorry, we tend to stock heavier in sizes 7-9.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  40. Tyler L. Childress on

Hi what color is the (vintage) boot in oiled nubuck gonna be , brown ? Blue would be cool, anything like that in the future and is the brown chromexcel ( ultimate ) the same leather as the Barrie Wingtip Boot you posted on nov 7 in brown Horween chromexcel.?

    Thanks so much guys

    • Tyler,

The Vintage will be brown and the Ultimate will be the same brown chromexcel as the Barrie Wingtip boots and Ultimate Indy Boots. If you have any other questions please let me know.

      Aloha,

      Tom
