Our newest Leather Soul exclusive Alden boot is the Barrie Wingtip Boot in snuff suede or brown Horween chromexcel.
A regular, all around welt gives this boot a slimmer silhouette and a double leather sole provides comfort and durability. Brass eyelets were chosen for the snuff suede version and painted brown eyelets for the chromexcel version.

The Barrie fits 1/2 size larger than the Leydon and Plaza.
We expect our Chromexcel sizes over 9D to arrive tomorrow.

How does the shoe vary “visually” with the different lasts? I’m wearing my Hawaiian Stompers (Leydon last) right now. Is the Plaza or Barrie more pointed? More square? Different in any way – visually?

The Plaza is squared off and slightly more pointy. The Barrie is essentially the same shape as the Leydon, just fits 1/2 size larger.

if you buy an Alden shoe that has double or single leather soles, would it be possible to send the shoes back to Alden and pay them to put an oil welt sole?

It would be on a case by case basis. You would need to email Alden with your request and the model’s stock number. I don’t believe they approve every model.
