In the few months since Will has joined our staff, he has become our resident expert polisher. To make his job a little easier, we’ve just purchased a Pilgrim polishing machine and installed it behind the LS Bar at LSW.
Pilgrim Shoe and Sewing Machine Company has been around for over 50 years right by Alden Shoe Company a few towns over in Quincy. We’re proud to add this Made in the USA machine to our store.

best part of this picture is the empty bottles of PvW. love it.
I was gonna say the same thing. Screw the shine….gimme the pappy
How will it compare to a “hand brushing”? Same results just more efficient for Will?
I gotta say that the machine is no match for a complete hand polishing. However, the machine does make the job 10x faster and about 80% of the results. Of course I am assuming I will get better with the machine over time, but the Pappy’s might have hindered my progress.
All kidding aside the machine is a great addition to the shop!
look pretty awesome. Will, how/what are the 4 different wheels used for?
Chris,
The left three are horsehair for polishing and the right one is cloth for finishing.
Aloha,
Tom
