The last time we made the Alden 6 eyelet chukka we experimented with the Grant last. Although it looked amazing, it didn’t fit everyone’s feet well. So, this time, we decided to re-make them on the Barrie last, Alden’s easiest fitting and most popular last.

    Looks like color 8 but cant tell for sure, or are they black shell?

    What kind of sole?

    Do you have 10 E?

    HB,

    These are indeed burgundy color #8. Sorry, no 10Es. The closest is a 10.5D. The sole is a double leather sole.

    Is the Barrie last really the most popular? Could that just be due to the fact the most popular shoes come on the Barrie stock? I find it to be a rather hard to fit last.

    For us it is. It’s a very neutral fitting last so the majority of the population can fit it well.

    From the pics, they look less like a chukka and more like a short-top plain toe blucher boot. Not sure if I’m using the proper terminology here but doesn’t the chukka normally have a longer vamp than the pt boot? Is the vamp on this boot a bit shorter than the chukka?

    Really like the look of these.

    HB,

    I would say you would be correct calling them a 6 eyelet chukka or a plain toe short boot. Alden calls them a 6 eyelet chukka though.

    good looking chukkas. i like the six eyelet over the two eyelet due to the fact that the six eyelet provides a better fit

    It’s a long shot, but anything in a 10C?

    The Barrie is just so long, wide and voluminous that I need to go both down a half size and down a width (from D to C) as well.
