JM Weston – Signature Loafer (LSW & LSBH)

Waikiki

May 24, 2012

The Signature Loafer is one of JM Weston’s most iconic models. Along with the John Lobb Lopez and the Alden #986, we consider one of the top three RTW loafers in the world.

Black and burgundy loafers are wardrobe staples and if you don’t have a pair in your collection, here’s your chance to start with the best.

  1. Hi,
I have 3 pairs of Alden shoes in Barrie last in size 10D. They fit me excellent. Which JMW size do you recomend? And do you have it available?

  5. Hi,
I noticed that you recommended a size 10 1/2 D in the Weston signature loafer to a gentleman who wears a size 10 D in the Alden Barrie last. I am guessing that you are converting Weston sizes to the approximate US sizes.
I have been having a very difficult time being sized for the Weston signature loafer. I live in Tokyo and have been going to the Weston shop to be fitted, but as they don’t carry any loafers my size, they have been guessing based on my Alden size 10D(model 986) Each order from Paris takes 2 months. After six months and having tried my third pair I am no closer to knowing my true size in the Weston signature loafer.
Can you please give me your best guess as to what you think my WESTON size might be? I did, in fact try the supposed equivalent of a 10.5D and found it too long.
Today I tried on an 8 1/2 E WESTON and it was too wide. The first pair I tried on was recommended by a visiting executive from Paris, I believe it was an 8C. He told me that Westons should have a very “close” fit. I was told that the shoe should be somewhat painful for the first several months and that the beak in period would be one to two years.
I would rather go barefoot than be in pain for two years. Needless to write, I did not go in for that approach to wearing a pair of shoes that sell for $1,000.00.
I would really appreciate your opinion. Originally, my idea was to find my size, then order them from you and pick them up on my next vacation to Hawaii.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am very interested to read your response.
    Best Regards,
    Buck

    • Buck,

Unfortunately the best advice I can give you is to visit a store that has a wide selection of sizes for you to try. We cannot offer perfect sizing recommendation over the phone or email. If you do visit us, we can measure your feet and give you a better recommendation. I understand it is hard being in Japan for anyone with a foot larger than size 9.

      Aloha,

      Tom

  6. Hi,

I usually wear the 180 model in 9.5 B. I used to wear 9.5 C but I like them tight as they loosen a little after a few years. Would it possible to order a few pair from you in that size? Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Marcel

  7. I recently got my first pair of Tricker’s loafers in a UK 10 and they fit nicely. Do you have a size recommendation for the JM Weston loafers?
