Our first collaboration with Tom’s new bar, Bar Leather Apron, is BLA01, a Hampton plain toe blucher in burgundy dress calf.
We designed this shoe to match the style of BLA, classic with modern elegance. The plain toe design was chosen to accentuate “bar patina,” alcohol spills and water spots. The oiled waterlock sole helps on wet floors while the Goodyear rubber heel adds comfort for 14 hour days on your feet.

10 years ago I followed my entrepreneurial dream and opened Leather Soul. Alden Shoe Company has been a focal point of my business from day 1. My first ever Leather Soul x Alden makeup was a plain toe blucher on the Leydon last with a storm welt and double leather sole. I offered it in cigar and black shell cordovan, later in color #8.
To commemorate my 10 year Anniversary I made that exact same shoe I made in 2004 but this time in ravello shell cordovan. Maybe for my 20th Anniversary I can offer it in whiskey shell cordovan?

Alden’s #990 Plain Toe Blucher (PTB) has been our top selling shoe since day one back in 2004. So it’s funny that we’ve never thought about making a calf version after all these years. After all, as much as we love shell cordovan, there are many people who prefer calf.
After ten years we finally present to you the calfskin version of the #990 PTB. Instead of using burgundy “dress” calf, we chose to offer it in burgundy “trapper” calf giving it a slightly more casual and traditional look, guaranteed to patina and age with time.
